Penguin Island and Caversham Wildlife Park Day Trip From Perth

Explore The Best Of Aussie Wildlife - Penguin Island, Glass-bottomed Boat, Pengo's Lunch and Caversham Wildlife Park

Penguin island:
Depart Perth for Penguin Island in the morning, heading to the south of Perth to reach the Shoalwater Marine Reserve. Penguin Island features beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters, and a nature reserve that is home to Western Australia’s largest colony of little penguins, which is the world's smallest species of penguin. The island also is home to a large pelican colony. Visit the Penguin Discovery Centre to learn about the birds from the rangeers, and watch them swim and eat in their purpose built sanctuary. Then enjoy a wildlife cruise around the Shoalwater Reserve to look for sea lions and dolphins. Afterward, have lunch at Pengos Cafe.

On rare occasions, the weather or tides may stop the Glass bottom boat and/or Penguin Ferry. When this happens the tour will divert to Mandurah for a scenic Dolphin cruise with lunch held at a restaurant in Mandurah instead.

Caversham Wildlife Park:
In the afternoon, visit Caversham Wildlife Park, which is located inside Whiteman Park. At Caversham Wildlife Park you can hand-feed the kangaroos, meet a wombat, touch a possum or lizard, and pose for photos with the koalas. You can also watch the Australian Farm Show, which features demonstrations of sheep shearing, cracking a whip, milking cows and bottle-feeding lambs, stockmen on horseback, and sheep dogs mustering the sheep.

Chocolate Factory:
Finish your tour with a stop at a chocolate factory for tastings of chocolate followed by a visit to a WA vineyard for wine tasting.
